It is most unfortunate that the devastating damage that has been caused by the new floods this year has not been brought to the proper notice of the world.
Thousands of families have lost everything, their houses have been destroyed, their entire belongings gone, their live stock killed and all their crops that were ready for harvest completely lost.
Millions have been affected and immediately need food, medicines, drinking water, tents/temporary housing, relief and support with the consequences of this flood likely to have serious short term and long term impact on the economy of Pakistan, which is already under severe strain.
We at KASB Foundation with our team of volunteers have already begun our relief operations in the areas directly affected by the floods. The immediate short term relief being provided by our foundation is food, medicines, drinking water and clothes. For long term sustainable relief we intend to provide water purification plants, medical relief supplies, tents and even housing.
To support our efforts and to help the desperately in need families, who still remain inundated in flood waters and have to face sleepless nights under the open skies because of insects and snakes, also face the risk of water-borne diseases if urgent measures are not taken to help.
